Jordan Amadio, MD, MBA is a brain technology innovator and practicing neurosurgeon at University of Texas at Austin Dell Seton Medical Center. He was co-founder of NeuroLaunch, the world's first neurotechnology startup incubator, which has invested in 12 companies. As an inventor, he holds patents or patents-pending on several medical innovations, encompassing spinal hardware, robotic drills, and optical cerebrospinal fluid analyzers. Outside of his academic practice, he is a lead staff neurosurgeon at Neuralink, where he is a key contributor to R&D for wireless high-bandwidth brain-computer interface technology soon entering human trials. Dr. Amadio was educated at Princeton, MIT, Harvard Medical School, Emory University, and Harvard Business School. He is on faculty at University of Texas at Austin, where he performs surgery, teaches, and is an NIH-funded investigator in surgical robot engineering together with the ARTS Lab. He is an expert consultant to several medical device companies and nonprofits, including XPRIZE Foundation. He is a recipient of the AMA Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award, “40 under 40” from MedTechBoston, and the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons Innovation Fellowship.
