Bernadette Anzengruber is a visual artist based in Vienna, working with photography, object, text, performance and video. Her research-based practice is strongly driven by queer-feminist theory and focused on intimacy, the corporality of language (materialised poetry), the erotic of commodities and medialised identity – as well as the desires and power structures that come along with these topics. As a feminist activist she advocates for equity from an intersectional perspective and with focus on sexual freedom, body positivity, reproduction rights, financial independence and prevention of violence. Anzengruber’s work has been shown internationally, received numerous awards and is represented in public and private art collections.
