Today's first breakout session on Health Care began with a captivating 4-minute talk by speculative Designer Lisa Mandemaker.

Wondering what speculative design entails? For Lisa, it's about crafting possible pathways that envision multiple potential futures. She emphasizes the importance of designing for four distinct types of futures: preferable, probable, plausible, and possible.

Hence, it is important to design these variations, especially in areas like reproduction and health care.

Following Lisa was Fredrik Debong, a seasoned Swedish entrepreneur with a forte in Health Tech and Fintech. When queried about his bold visions for health care, Debong drew an analogy of a cake with multiple layers.

Drawing from his experience with mySugr, a pioneering diabetes app, he painted a picture of healthcare influenced by numerous factors—each a layer in the cake, spanning politics to education. His advice? Dive deep through these layers, as therein lies the potential for revolutionary change.

Concluding the session was Walter Werzowa, the founder of HealthTunes, a non-profit for evidence-backed music therapy. Walter recently unveiled Beethoven X, an AI endeavor that continues iBeethoven's unfinished 10th symphony sketches.

While acknowledging the marvels of modern medicine, Walter stressed the financial strain it imposes, pushing many into poverty. His contribution: Utilizing AI to craft music precisely tuned for therapeutic needs.

After this input, focus area #1 with a focus on health care began. Here, the BOLD Community mixed with companies from Vienna's health industry split into eight groups to discuss the current challenges in health care in more detail.
